About Hen's Tooth

It all began at my allotment in a quiet corner of Bristol. Among spuds and wildflowers, I discovered the joy of slow days, muddy hands, and small, thoughtful treasures.

What started as a daydream in my potting shed - “What if I could hang out here whenever I like?” - grew into Hen’s Tooth Shop: a cosy space for slow-living, nature-inspired homeware, garden pieces, and giftware.

I’ve always had a creative side hustle, whether selling artwork and crafts as Tom Cat Designs, publishing fiction under my family name Amy C. Fitzjohn, or running my coaching business Learn To Love Your Words, helping others tell their stories.

Entrepreneurial spirit has always been part of me, alongside a love of pottering outdoors, growing food, and living sustainably.

When I finally got my allotment, I named it Hen’s Tooth - because allotments in Bristol are so rare and precious.

For over a decade, I’ve supported small businesses and communities across Bristol as a mentor, trainer, and facilitator - championing sustainability, creativity, and resilience.

That journey taught me that business can be both purposeful and playful, and that success is measured in joy, connection, and impact.

Hen’s Tooth is my place where gifts are chosen with care, stories are shared, and slow living is celebrated.

Welcome. You’re part of the Hen’s Tooth story now.
